Second Outfit Entry
Goldilocks Dress by Sock Monkey’s Business
A lot of thought and planning went into this outfit. I started with a
picture from a quilt show that I attended earlier in the year – I love
the sun dress and went to Pinterest for more ideas – I found a pattern
idea that looked very easy to make in only 4 ½ hours and a yellow
jacket to go with the sundress – and then I found blue print fabric
that came from my Grandma’s stash and a yellow shirt that needed
re-imagined. I decided to add a purse, purchase sunglasses and use my
favorite white doll espadrilles.
I made three skirts for the dress for this challenge, the first one
was too big, the second one was too small and the third one was just
right! I spent some time re-figuring the pattern and using higher math
– but it didn’t work as I had expected. I have learned that pattern
making is not as easy as I thought – or I just need more practice!

So I made two versions of the sundress!
Time to model and a little sock monkey business never hurts!
It all started with a sock monkey who needed a Halloween costume.
After making him a costume, I branched out to create custom outfits
