Entry #29

2013 Fashion Design Challenge
Entry #29

I planned for the outfit to look like this, just longer, and
the jacket would have four buttons that all clasped over.

Step One: Draft an original pattern from the Liberty Jane strapless tank top. Here's my mistake-originally, I planned to have sleeves.

Step Two: This is what pinning was like before Pinterest existed.

Step Three: Sew the seams and hem until it looks like step Five.

Step Five: This is what it should look like.

Step Six: Try to use pins and your fingers to hem the neckline.

Step Seven: After a couple minutes and several burnt fingers, find binding clips.

Step Eight: Then walk away from your machine for a couple days and leave your normally patient model in an uncomfortable position.

Step Nine: Realize that your dress has suddenly turned into a bubble skirt (sort of.)

Step Ten: Draft your jacket pattern.

Step Eleven: After cuttting, pinning, and sewing the pink jacket, painstakingly sew on gold buttons that you got for 70 cents at a nice little quilt store down the street.

Step Twelve: Dress your doll in cute shoes and cat's eye glasses , then send her off
to report a crime on tonight's news.

(There is no Step Four, you OCD maniacs.)
I hope you enjoyed my Quirky Girl Reporter outfit.
