2013 Fashion Design Challenge Entry #1
Design
My name is Kate and I am 12. This is the first time I have used a sewing machine. For my first outfit I went with something simple but beautiful. You could wear it on a summer picnic or to the mall with friends. The main part of the dress is made out of patterned cotton and is sewn together with French seams. The ruffles are made of a transparent white polyester that’s soft and airy. The costume, of course, would not be complete without accessories. I created a pair of beaded sandals, a patterned head band and to finish it off, a small bracelet with a charm.
In-Progress Shots
The patterns I made.
Pinning on the patterns.

Fitting the dress on Felicity.

Adding darts to the waist of the dress.
